Sailing in Mallorca
Marenauta an excellent intermediary; the company Starsails had not communicated the rental conditions to the Base Manager so we had to argue over sheets, outboard, even cleaning costs different from those in the contract... fortunately on Saturday at 5 pm Marenauta customer service answered the phone, contacted the company and promptly resolved the issue. The rest of the week was superb

Relaxed holiday
Cleanliness of the boat very poor, we raised it. Handover on site very good. Some technical problems with the boat, these are being credibly and sustainably fixed.
The boat is already somewhat aged but still good. Cleaning of the equipment could be a bit better; the kettles were very limescale-covered. In addition, the batteries for powering the appliances were no longer in order.

We especially liked the straightforward check-in and the nice (and equally straightforward) return. We've experienced it differently with other charter companies.
The Bavaria 35 was overall in order, if somewhat ageing. The bathroom (the toilet) smelled unpleasant. That settled during the trip though.
Kitchen and bathroom equipment was somewhat spartan (no kitchen towels, no washing-up liquid, no toilet paper, no clothes pegs). Pans/pots/kitchen knives/cutting boards are also better brought from home. But that's only a small thing and no different on many other charter boats.
On the plus side the Bavaria 35 has a bow thruster, which we really liked.

The charter process (takeover as well as return of the yacht) was absolutely straightforward. The vessel itself was technically fine, though already a few years old.
The holiday itself was great. The boat was barely cleaned — the entire boat and especially the toilet smelled of urine. We were told that was normal... Later we saw that the shower drain was blocked and stale urine had collected under the toilet slats. We then cleaned it ourselves, as well as the kitchen utensils etc. which were so dirty in places that they could not be used. We then bought some things ourselves to manage. The life jackets had not been inspected for many years and were therefore a safety risk. Other sailors on other Starsails boats complained about this too. Afterwards I also wrote to Helge and pointed this out. The €120 for final cleaning was money thrown away. There was never a reply. Never again for us. There were many more defects, but that would go too far... We will charter with ENJOY-Sailing again as we usually do.

Poorly maintained boat: we arrived on Saturday and found a dirty boat. Underway the jib gave us many problems because it wouldn't furl, and with winds over 15 knots it was impossible to set it. The mainsail was difficult to hoist and douse. In short, although only four years old the boat was in terrible condition. The people were very kind. Fabio
Boat wasn't in good condition. I hurt badly myself on my head because a non protected screw on the top bimini.

Report on Carpe Diem, Bavaria 36, Lemmer
Everything very good; only 1 window was not quite watertight (catch for the latch missing, spare parts issue) and some pots partly stuck together. Otherwise support was very friendly and good.

Splendid boat!
The Bavaria Cruiser 41 is definitely one of the most beautiful boats I have ever chartered.
Impeccably built, fast and safe in every wind condition and absolutely perfect in every respect. German quality.
Mallorca during the coronavirus period was certainly not at its peak, but it is still a beautiful island with a dreamlike sea!

Lemmer — gateway to the IJsselmeer
We found the boat in the harbor easily, thanks to the instructions from the instructor Tom. Smooth handover, no fuss, perhaps a bit rushed.
The boat was clean and equipped as ordered with bedding, blankets and towels. The bow thruster was, in our view, essential for the stern-landing approach. (The stern was folded down and gave step-free, almost gap-free access (20 cm clearance) to the pontoon.
Only criticism: we had to refill the drinking water twice within 3 days (something is not right), despite normal use by 2 people.
We sailed in 3–4 wind strengths. Handling the boat was likewise trouble-free. There were plenty of navigation aids on board.
The Bavaria Cruiser is ideal for 2 people (forward/aft cabins) with lots of space in the cockpit and saloon. The fridge had large capacity and excellent cooling (down to ice formation); the 2-burner gas stove was also adequate and problem-free. Plenty of storage space for 2 people.
We only figured out the secrets of the sound system and light sources on board after a long time of trial and error. Tom should have spent more time explaining those. (But we were there to sail, not to listen to music, after all.)
Oh, and one more thing: the forward berth takes getting used to for people over 190 cm, and for two people of that height together it is not recommended or even unreasonable (too little space). The aft cabin is also quite low, but fine for a week. You see the pros and cons of the price/performance ratio (lower price, but less comfort). So for purists and people who only want to sail, exactly the right boat. The toilet likewise suits purists (quite cramped), but the sanitary facilities in Lemmer harbor are good, clean and convenient.
