Process super, boat so-so

The entire charter process with Marenauta was super straightforward and pleasant. Check-in with Navigare was also pleasantly uncomplicated. The boat itself was unfortunately in a deplorable state of maintenance. Seals and closures were defective, the binoculars were a telescope because one side was broken, it rained through the deck lining, switches didn't work, the stern hatch fittings were worn out and it couldn't be closed securely without force. It wasn't clean either. We would certainly like to charter through Marenauta again, but definitely not with Navigare!

Overall OK with limitations

The timing of the check-in and check-out processes was good. In terms of content though the check-in was a disaster. Many technical defects were discovered (e.g. generator, port engine, battery, etc.) and only hastily repaired. In the end the yacht's battery was defective and we had to run the generator for the entire trip. The charter company at least covered the diesel costs. Overall very poor technical condition.

Great ship with minor things that could be improved

A great ship and a great charter company! If we had something to note, it would be the running rigging on the ship. It was partly aged and worn, which negatively affected sail handling. On the mainsail a block was missing and the line ran only over a shackle. We used the block from the spinnaker halyard since that wasn't in use. The forestay of the self-tacking jib was so twisted that setting and dousing without manual intervention wasn't possible because the line kept twisting. We chartered at the end of the season and reported this to the charter company so they will surely fix it.

Another great stretch of Croatian coastline

This is our third charter in Croatia, and it may have been our best. The nearly new Elba 45 was our best cat to date - really nicely designed, provisioned, and maintained. The sailhandling systems and deck layout for sailing and sunning fit our preferences perfectly. The Navigare personnel at the Dubrovnik base were friendly and professional. The briefing and debriefing went smoothly.

We chartered a Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 catamaran (Rosual Mar, built 2024). The catamaran is very well equipped. The outdoor cushions were unfortunately already somewhat worn. The outdoor grill is also outstanding!! Really the only thing missing was the watermaker. Boat handovers went very quickly and smoothly via the dock. Happy to come again.

Great experience

We rented a 45 ft catamaran in the BVI and had a great experience with Navigare. They were great with communication from the get go, even following up with us before our arrival to check on our ferry time and arrange pick up. The people at check-in were friendly and helpful and arranged complimentary shuttle service to the supermarket. The boat was clean and well-appointed. The boat walk-through took a little longer than we would've liked but was very thorough and informative. Similarly, the check-out process was very easy and the people we worked with were great. We also really liked the marina with its pool, beach, restaurant, and small grocery store. We'd definitely use Navigare again!

We booked a catamaran with skipper and cook through Marenauta for the umpteenth time. The Lagoon 42 we booked was in good condition except for minor details. The cook Regina made the trip a much better experience with her carefree manner and her talent for cooking. We were all thrilled. With our skipper Dimitrios we were less fortunate. From the start he seemed stressed and overwhelmed by all the tasks. He was unable to give clear instructions. Various questionable manoeuvres left us with an uneasy feeling. The wonderful sea and the many beautiful islands...[Mykonos Paros Milos Hydra....] still fascinated us so much that we did not regret our trip.

Catamaran and check-in/out not up to standard

In my twenty years of experience chartering boats, I have never written a review of this kind, never encountered such poor service, and never made such a bad impression on my clients — friends and family. Agios Kosmas Marina is an impractical marina; it is a shipyard lacking any services. There are no toilets, WCs or showers, nor any bar or restaurant where you can buy even a simple bottle of water on arrival. When we arrived by taxi at the entrance to Agios Kosmas Marina, the person at reception, contacted by phone, had us get out at the entrance where there is a sliding gate with the attendant inside a site container. We got out on the street in the sun at 40 degrees at 1 PM, with not even a minimal shaded area. In ALL previous charters, and normally, on arrival after a journey, someone comes to the marina, you are received in an office, and you wait at the bar for the boat handover. NONE OF THIS. Imagine that the two elderly people in my group, while waiting for someone to come and get us (about thirty minutes), I had sit on the edge of the pavement, with dust raised by vehicles entering the shipyard, without even a minimal shaded area (truly embarrassing). With the risk of fainting. The appointment was at a bar three kilometres away, in an area outside Agios Kosmas marina, called DELPHINIA RESTAURANT. Reception and check-in took place in the middle of the street, at a roadside table, not even in a minimal office (I can send you photos). The boat was handed over at 7 PM. In a marina lacking everything, they offer a service escorting you to a supermarket where prices are four times the going rate. The catamaran very poorly maintained, with evident signs of wear especially in the technical equipment: a bilge pump not working, discovered because of the smell of stagnant, foul-smelling water (it was replaced following our request for intervention in Porto Heli); damaged windlass; and in basic comfort equipment: sunshades and mosquito nets ruined and malfunctioning, worn, very thin and uncomfortable cushions with crumbling foam. Bathrooms with constant water residue on the floor leaking from the pumps. Gas galley malfunctioning; on the last day at sea a gas leak from the stove caused a near fire. We reported it on return, and on Friday afternoon as soon as we came back into port they dismantled the galley, which from that moment became unusable with an incredible smell of gas. I complained, pointing out that my clients, with no services in the "marina", wanted to dine on board and the only thing offered was the use of the galley of another catamaran just vacated by clients that had not yet been cleaned. During dinner, because of the smell of gas caused by the hasty dismantling, you could not stay on board. We called the sailing instructor who had done the initial check-in; she arrived together with another skipper and after noting the smell of gas, the only thing they did was remove the gas cylinder and take it away, without considering that the smell of gas was due to the pipes they had dismantled and left open with gas residue inside. After a while, because of the normal increase in the smell of gas caused by the removed cylinder and open pipes, we contacted them again to report that the smell of gas had spread to the starboard cabins and that the guests occupying those cabins could not sleep there. The same person said that the occupants of those cabins, if they wished, could sleep on the catamaran that had been offered to us for cooking. I pointed out that the catamaran still had uncleaned cabins and beds with dirty sheets left by the previous clients. I asked if it were possible to have at least clean sheets, offering to make the beds myself and tidy up to save face, but she stopped replying to my messages and from that moment disappeared.

Seychelles dream islands, charter company a bit less

Our holiday on a 40-foot catamaran in the Seychelles Was unforgettable as regards the flora, fauna and dazzling white beaches and the welcoming people. We were somewhat less satisfied with the charter company. Approximate staff, completely absent at our departure and also at our return at the end of the holiday (4:30 p.m.). The place to refuel diesel at the end was completely impossible to find and had no sign; we called the base and they said they would call us back but never did, so much so that we followed another boat hoping for the best among reefs and counter-reefs. We requested a briefing from Francois (the boss) before leaving; he seemed surprised but then gave it to us (since it was our first time sailing in the Indian Ocean, as we explained) as we were not comfortable with reefs and tides. On board nautical charts and pilot book were missing (fortunately I had obtained them in Milan) — only GPS. Near the helm on the flying bridge there was only the GPS, but the wind indicator and anemometer were placed in the cabin where they were useless to anyone. Check-in was approximate and also with wrong indications regarding the position of the fresh water and watermaker tank levers. The day after departure we returned to port for more information and people alternated with diametrically opposed opinions and instructions... in any case in the end, even without any manual, we managed. We then had a discussion at departure over the lack of life jackets replaced by inflatable belts that are not the same thing (if you fall overboard unconscious from a boom strike, no one is able to pull the cord). After much insistence these belts were replaced by 8 classic life jackets. The general condition of the boat (especially the sails) did not make it look new but already heavily used.

Not really as advertised

The catamaran was new and in good condition, however it was not eqquiped as advertised in the listing. Namely, the heads were not electric and there was no exterior gas grill. Also missing is a handheld VHF. Other than that, everythign was fine.

Beneteau 46.1 - Loco Amor

The boat is very well maintained, everything perfectly functional and very clean. We verified that the shore team is ready to repair any anomaly and malfunction in good time. Only flaw of the boat: the aft cabins are a bit warm because of the single small porthole that takes air from the cockpit, but this is a boat design issue, not the charter company's obviously. However there are fans in the cabins that allow pleasant sleep even on very hot nights, as happened during this August. The tender supplied was practically perfect: very high tubes that allowed us to go ashore in the evening always dry. Only problem: despite chartering the boat for two consecutive weeks, the supply of sheets and towels was provided for one week. We pointed it out to the welcome team but they explained that unfortunately that was the charter policy. Had I known beforehand, I would have brought a change from home... but we had chosen to rent everything precisely so we could travel light... Apart from this, everything excellent.

Wonderful Croatia with a great Charter

Croatia is the ideal place for the perfect sailing holiday, and this is the charter company to make it happen. The boat was brand new and in pristine condition, well equipped and very comfortable. The charter team was professional and friendly. The Carefree package raises the bar in convenience for every other charter company out there. Just a slight delay in the onboarding but nothing too serious.

It was a wonderful holiday, made easier by the excellent welcome at the base from the manager Mr Mauro and by perfect weather conditions: practically always fine weather, with 14-15 knots of wind that allowed us to visit enchanting places we did not know and that always turned out to be even better in reality than we had imagined, even after preparing carefully on charts, satellite images and pilot books. We are so satisfied that we have decided to ask you for proposals for similar boats or possibly larger ones for a cruise in the Seychelles in 2022. In this regard we ask you to advise us on the best period both in terms of cost and weather conditions. We would prefer late November, although we fear it may be dangerously rainy.

Wonderful sailing trip with varied days

The four of us sailed from Trogir via Brač and Hvar to Korčula and back. The weather was generally nice — unfortunately some days rather light on wind, then quite windy again, up to nearly force 5. Marinas become sparser and smaller heading south (no comparison with e.g. Šibenik/Biograd/Zadar); it's advisable to reserve berths in advance. The Sun Odyssey 440 was reliable and easy to handle. Taking over and returning the boat was straightforward; the charter company is absolutely recommendable. Booking through Marenauta also went smoothly and they were very helpful with all questions!

There were 9 of us on board and everyone was very happy. Everything worked, the equipment was complete, and the dinghy with outboard worked fine. The chart plotter was missing its protective cover, and the button labels looked accordingly; they should be replaced. At check-in, the second diesel tank was not full (probably not refuelled by the previous charterer). The staff were accommodating and helpful. All in all, it was a lovely holiday

Trogir is a perfect starting point for a cruise among Croatia's major islands. To reach more islands - Vis, Lastovo, Korčula, Hvar - the distances can be considerable, but always worth it. Even though our cruise was at the end of May, to get a berth in the marinas, well equipped, in magnificent and rather pricey spots, you need to plan ahead.

A wonderful holiday. We had originally chosen the Cyclades, but on our skipper's advice we changed the itinerary because the wind was too strong and headed for the Saronic Islands instead... We were quite satisfied, but the two boats had annoying problems we had to live with all week, one of them being a damaged engine battery on one of the two vessels. In my opinion the charter assistance was not adequate compared to what I have seen other companies do in the past. For the rest everything was fine and the places were beautiful! The cruise went very well in the sense that the stretch of Turkish coast I chose is the richest in beautiful bays; Turkey is magnificent and the Turks are always very helpful and friendly. The marina where I boarded is a little inconvenient and too far from Göcek village, and the skipper seemed to think he was handling not a 48-footer with limited draft but a ferry, so he was always very slow in maneuvers with moorings in the bays done at exaggerated distances; however he makes up for it with truly very special kindness and availability.
