Lagos marina is the only Portuguese marina with the "Euromarina Anchor Award" and holds the European Blue Flag. The marina has a good choice of restaurants and bars, is connected by a footbridge to the historic old town and is within walking distance to the stunning Meia praia beach and a large supermarket. Lagos has a beautiful bay, surrounded by 6km of fine sandy beach. The bay itself is surrounded by wonderful small coves and beaches - perfect for anchoring, diving, fishing and snorkeling. For centuries winds have blown mariners from all walks of life to Portugal’s welcoming Southern shores. Lagos is a charming old town, steeped in history, it’s cobbled streets, vibrant fish market, traditional tiled buildings, and countless cafes and restaurants to stop for the local favorites - a galão (milky coffee) and a pastel de nata (custard tart), make it a truly Portuguese town. The rural region around Lagos is dotted with fig trees, almond trees and orange groves.
