Segelurlaub rund um Elba – Eine traumhafte Woche auf dem Wasser
|
|
Unsere einwöchige Segeltour rund um die toskanische Insel Elba war ein echtes Highlight – eine gelungene Mischung aus sportlichem Segeln, entspannten Momenten in idyllischen Buchten und dem besonderen Flair italienischer Küstenorte. Trotz kleinerer Schönheitsfehler unseres Segelbootes war der Urlaub rundum gelungen – im Gegenteil, gerade diese Details verliehen der Reise sogar ein Stück Charakter.
Das Boot – mit Seele und sportlichem Herz
Das Boot war ein etwas älteres Modell, das seine besten Jahre zwar hinter sich hatte, aber zuverlässig und seetüchtig war. Ein paar kleine Macken wie eine klemmende Luke oder Gebrauchsspuren fielen kaum ins Gewicht. Besonders am Wind lief das Boot überraschend gut – selbst bei wenig Wind war es schnell und stabil unterwegs, was das Segeln zu einem echten Vergnügen machte.
Die Route – einmal rund um Elba
Die Insel in einer Woche zu umrunden ist ideal. Unsere Route führte gegen den Uhrzeigersinn mit Stopps in Porto Azzurro, Marina di Campo, Marciana Marina und einigen ruhigen Buchten. Jeder Tag bot neue Eindrücke: grüne Hänge, schroffe Küsten, klare Buchten – Elba zeigt sich unglaublich abwechslungsreich. Die Tagesetappen waren angenehm lang, boten genug Zeit zum Segeln, aber auch für entspannte Badestopps oder kurze Landgänge.
Die Highlights – Natur, Ruhe und Dolce Vita
Das abendliche Ankern in stillen Buchten war einer der schönsten Aspekte der Reise. In Porto Azzurro legten wir besonders gern an – ein hübscher, lebendiger Ort mit Restaurants, Bars und einer stimmungsvollen Promenade. Ganz anders dagegen Portoferraio: Die Marina wirkte wenig einladend, mit wenig Flair und eher funktionalem Charakter. Für einen kurzen Versorgungsstopp akzeptabel, aber kein Ort zum Verweilen.
Insgesamt bot die Woche rund um Elba alles, was man sich von einem gelungenen Segelurlaub wünscht: viel Natur, gute Bedingungen, charmante Orte – und vor allem Ruhe und Freiheit auf dem Wasser.

Unsafe Boat, Unfair Practices – A Cautionary Tale
|
|
Our charter with Sailing Sicily was one of the worst experiences we have ever had at sea. The boat delivered had serious and dangerous technical issues: the main engine was unreliable and the furling system failed during the trip. These are not minor inconveniences — they are safety hazards that should have been addressed before handing over the vessel.
Assistance was slow and dismissive, leaving us to manage stressful and unsafe situations on our own. Instead of taking responsibility, the company tried to pressure me into signing an unfair waiver in order to release my security deposit. When I refused to sign, they unjustifiably withheld €1,379 from my deposit without any proper documentation or legal basis.
This behaviour is unprofessional, unethical, and shows complete disregard for customer safety and rights. Sailing Sicily not only failed to deliver a seaworthy vessel, but also attempted to shift the consequences of their negligence onto their customers.
For anyone considering a charter with this company: think twice. There are many other operators who value safety, transparency, and fairness — Sailing Sicily is not one of them.

|
Barca nuova e ben accessoriata, Bali è una garanzia per quanto riguarda la comodità, altro discorso la cantieristica, che non è al top.
Per una barca nuova, e, soprattutto di questo segmento, mi sarei aspettato tutti i comandi rimandati sul pannello carteggio (generatore, dissalatore, deviatore corrente banchina) e non in scomodi gavoni e vani motore.
Un plauso speciale alla presenza della griglia esterna che è molto comoda.
Sicuramente va eliminato problema di accensione motore sx che durante la settimana, peggiorata sempre più, rendendo pericolosa la navigazione in caso di emergenza (le ultime accensioni richiedevano anche 10 o 15 minuti di uomo nel Govone motore a smanettare sulle spine di cablaggio elettrico).
Il problema di presenza di gasolio ( mezzo bugliolo !!!) Sotto il pagliolato scafo dx che ci ha obbligato a dormire fuori una notte, e che ho dovuto eliminare con sassola e spugna per poi pulire e sgranare per eliminare odori, non si è più ripresentato.... sarebbe da investigare..
Ottima assistenza in banchina...

La barca non era pulita, ossia lo era stata diversi giorni prima, era piena di foglie e molto impolverata, Le manovre correnti non erano state controllate, trovati nodi fantasia, nodi pacchetto ecc, inoltre la prima mano di terzaroli non era legata al boma e, dulcis in fundo abbiamo trovato un'accoglienza scarsa e disattenta, per un imprevisto dovuto a sciopero oltre a problemi tecnici della compagnia aerea lo skipper (medesimo) é arrivato la sera alle 11:00, l'equipaggio arrivato con altri mezzi arrivato con un po' di anticipo é stato lasciato sulla banchina sotto un sole infuocato in una marina, Portorosa, alquanto complicata, senza nemmeno una bottiglia d'acqua. Il check in ritardato per forza maggiore indipendente dalla propria volontà é stato sanzionato con € 100,00 e con la pressione di effettuarlo in primissima mattinata, inoltre arrivando a bordo ci aspettavamo almeno una bottiglia d'acqua ed 1 rotolo di carta igenica, quale genere di prima necessità. La barca era proporzionata alle aspettative.

Ottimo supporto, la barca molto migliorabile
|
|
Tutto ma proprio tutto il personale alla base è stato eccezionale, disponibile, professionale, sia al check in, sia al check out, sia nel corso della settimana quando ci hanno raggiunti in auto per effettuare la sostituzione della pompa dell'acqua malfunzionante.
Raramente ho incontrato persone così attente alle nostre esigenze, professionali e tempestive nel rispondere e nell'intervenire.
La nota dolente è stata invece l'imbarcazione e nello specifico lo stato di manutenzione dell'opera viva (sporchissima, elichetta del solcometro che spesso si blocca, eliche di prua che girano-funzionano ma sono talmente incrostate che la spinta laterale è praticamente assente, ecc) e, secondo ed ancor più grave problema, l'impianto elettrico che è completamente da rifare:
oltre alla pompa dell'acqua che ci è stata sostituita, ci sono fili esposti a piede d'albero, la metà degli interruttori NON accende ciò che è rappresentato nel quadro (es. per accendere la luce di coronamento si preme il bottone degli strumenti di navigazione, per accendere le luci di via verde-rossa a prua si preme il tasto F1, la luce di testa d'albero-fonda non si accende con nessun interruttore, ecc), i 2 frigoriferi "saltano" continuamente, i misuratori dei livelli dei serbatoi dell'acqua segnalano 100% di pieno anche a serbatoi vuoti, eccetera. La barca va tirata fuori dall'acqua per una bella pulizia dell'opera viva e l'impianto elettrico va smontato e rifatto da capo.
Per fortuna il meteo buono ed un equipaggio affiatato e volenteroso di godersi la vacanza hanno minimizzato l'effetto di questi inconvenienti, ma la barca in quelle condizioni non si dovrebbe noleggiare.

Would not recommend, charter from another company
|

This charter company is extremely sub-par. They are rude, ignore your questions at check out, charge you for everything (who pays for extra sheets and pillows on a week long charter?!?), and try to give you cheap version of what you need! Thank god we asked them to show us how to use the outboard motor, because guess what, the one we paid for and were given did not work. Also, our dinghy was inoperable (it would sink) with the 5 of us in it,(despite chartering a 4 cabin boat with a 10 person capacity). They told us we did not have an invertor on our boat. When I called them the next day to again ask about this, as we needed it to charge a passenger's sleep apnea machine, they had to call the boat owner to find out that we did indeed have one. Lastly, our boat had a ton of algae on the bottom, which really slowed it down. I would highly recommend NOT chartering from this broker.

Egadi, un salto nel passato sognando ad occhi aperti
|
|
Qualche timore iniziale riguardo le limitazioni imposte dall'Area Marina Protetta è via via sfumato dopo il briefing con i referenti del cantiere. La barca, un Lagoon 380, è tenuta molto bene nonostante qualche annetto di anzianità. Completa di tutto per quanto riguarda dotazioni e attrezzature. La navigazione nelle isole riserva continuamente nuove sorprese, baie spettacolari, borghi che richiamano scene di film degli anni 60, persone sempre gentili e disponibili alla chiacchiera. Prima notte in rada all'ancora su Favignana a cala Pozzo, la giornata successiva giro antiorario fino a Favignana dove ormeggiamo da Gigi (che avevamo già chiamato nei giorni precedenti per avere certezza del posto), gentile e simpatico. Cena in piazzetta da "il pescatore", non è economico, ma non si può sbagliare nella scelta delle pietanze. Sempre ottime. Mattino successivo si parte per Marettimo, visita della Grotta del Camello, con il tender dentro fino alla spiaggetta sul fondo grotta e poi in esplorazione con la maschera. Molto bella e particolare per la presa di luce a centro grotta. Come sempre il meteo condiziona la navigazione e abbiamo dovuto passare due notti a Marettimo in banchina,cosa che ci ha permesso di scoprire l'animo riservato e gentile dell'isola e dei suoi abitanti. Uomini che scrutano il mare e cercano di interpretarlo, lo considerano una creatura viva da rispettare sempre. Una creatura che da da vivere con la pesca, ma può riservare brutte esperienze se si è spavaldi nei suo confronti. Ci siamo poi diretti su Levanzo, un bagno in rada davanti al paese è d'obbligo, così come la visita del piccolo borgo. Da li poi per San Vito lo Capo, dove ci siamo immersi nel casino serale di questa stazione rinomata e frequentatissima dai siciliani. Al mattino visita dello Zingaro fino a Scopello e poi dietro front per ripercorrere la rotta per Levanzo dove passiamo la notte ormeggiati alla boa in rada a Cala Fredda. L'indomani, venerdì, puntatina a Cala Rossa su Favignana e poi si rientra alla base a Marsala. Durante la settimana abbiamo aperto le vele diverse volte divertendoci ad andature anche di 8/9 nodi con venti di 20/22 nodi. Imbarcazione performante ed efficiente.
Qualche nota sui permessi. Navigando con una imbarcazione provvista di permesso dell'ente Area Protetta Marina Isole Egadi si possono frequentare aree verdi e gialle, si può ancorare, ma fuori dai campi boe, le notti in rada sono possibili solo ormeggiando nelle aree attrezzate con boe pagando il un ticket di 38 euro per 24 ore agli addetti che girano con un barchino. E' prevista anche una tariffa agevolata settimanale che vi permette di ormeggiare nei campi boe dove e quando si vuole per 7 giorni consecutivi. Poche barche in giro, poca gente nei paesi delle isole, una vacanza rilassante.

La barca non presentava alcun problema di sicurezza: è stata locata solo con feedback positivi le settimane precedenti e quelle successive.
Non possiamo entrare nel merito delle competenze tecniche del comandante (seppur nei contratti di locazione queste vadano prese sempre in considerazione).
La barca non presentava alcun problema di sicurezza. Il motore “in panne” non solo è ripartito senza problemi, ma quando la mattina successiva è stato visionato da un meccanico lo stesso ha confermato che non vi erano interventi da eseguire.
Di contro al cliente è stata consegnata l’imbarcazione in tempi più brevi di quelli contrattualmente previsti.
L’unico vero disagio avuto dal cliente (del quale non escluderei di ritenere lo stesso responsabile) riguardava una cerniera del tendalino della barca che DOPO la sua prima navigazione è stata rotta a causa del continuo tentativo dello stesso di stringerla.
Inoltre seguendo sia il codice di navigazione che il buon senso, qualsiasi comandante responsabile non utilizzerebbe mai per due settimane una imbarcazione con gravi problemi di manutenzione mettendo in pericolo se stesso e l’equipaggio. Di fatto le richieste del cliente sono apparse subito infondate e pretestuose.
Nonostante questo, nella volontà di mantenere un rapporto commerciale con il cliente e tutelare anche i rapporti con l’agenzia che lo ha procacciato, ci si è offerti di non addebitare i costi dei sacchi dell’immondizia lasciati a bordo (tralasciando lo stato generale di pulizia dell’imbarcazione) ed il costo di un motore fuoribordo rotto dal cliente.
A tutto quanto sopra era stato aggiunto un voucher di 200 € per future vacanze.
Quanto offerto superava un valore di 1500 €.
Prima di concretizzare tale gesto commerciale è stato chiesto di firmare una liberatoria che tutelasse entrambe le parti da qualsiasi futura pretesa (noi per le richieste del cliente e lui per i danni cagionati)
Non avendo il cliente accettato ed avendo mostrato la volontà di procedere per vie legali, abbiamo proceduto a seguire il normale iter ovvero trattenere la quota di cauzione a compensazione dei danni da lui cagionati.
Sottolineo come ad oggi la carcassa del motore da lui rotto sia sempre disponibile per analisi e ritiro.
Abbiamo mostrato fin dall’inizio totale apertura per chiudere la vicenda in modo rapido e giusto sacrificando il nostro diritto al rimborso dei danni, ma ci siamo ritrovati costretti dalle decisioni del cliente nel procedere come raccontato
