Lavrio-Milos — a great experience with plenty of wind  
A lovely holiday on a Dufour 530 that was supposedly very well equipped with air conditioning, watermaker and generator — too bad that at check-in they told us the watermaker wasn't working. After reaching an agreement that included two stand-up paddleboards for free use, we set off with 25 knots of wind already blowing, which didn't allow us to check the condition of the sails. Indeed, on the first hoist we realised the in-mast furling was jammed and we had to work hard to free it. The week went by in strong but fresh wind (we never used the air conditioning). Quiet spots with crystal-clear water around Milos. Then, prudently, we brought the return to Lavrio forward because the weather forecast called for 30–35 knots of wind; manoeuvring in port with a 53-footer isn't easy when the bow thruster kept going into protection mode and leaving you in the lurch at the worst moment. The final surprise at check-out was being charged for damage to the rudder blade, documented by a video on the return date — too bad they didn't show us images from the previous week. Total damage: 150 euros (not much in my opinion), but it's unlikely the damage was repaired with the boat in the water and charters to follow. The suspicion remains that they're making money off it all season.

Hello,

The watermaker indeed did not work so the clients were offered 2 x SUPs as compensation. They agreed it was enough.

When the yacht came back, the diver found a scratch in the rudder and asked us 150 euro for repairing it.

Whether it was repaired immediately or later is not relevant to whether the cost itself is fair & reasonable.

The clients are free to dive and check the underwater of the yacht at the start of the trip if they need to make sure everything is ok. I wish the client had dived so that not he did not believe we charged him for something he did not do.

I was actually there and he did not seem to have any issue with the damage/charge. He signed he agreed. On the other hand, his english was not very good so maybe I missed something.

Hellenic Yachting da evitare assolutamente  
L'imbarcazione nonstante fosse nuova, del 2020, era stata manutenuta in modo pessimo. Questo oltre a creare rischi per la tenuta della barca e la sicurezza a bordo, ha anche fatto si che il motore tiraancora si bloccasse, e ci tenesse fermi per ben 40 ore, prima di poter ripartire perchè riparato da un tecnico incaricato dalla compagnia. Non vi consiglio di provare questa compagnia, poichè al nostro ritorno parlando con altri che hanno usufruito delle imbarcazioni, 7 su 8 imbarcazioni hanno avuto problemi di varia natura. Il personale a terra non è tremendo, ma di sicuro generalmente non fanno un buon lavoro.

The experience overall is positive, courteous staff, some aspects regarding organization to be reviewed. Rather slow check-in, hygienic conditions of the boat questionable plus two doors with broken handles. Emergency tiller not present, dock lines in disarray.

Room for improvement.  
Not enough cleaning staff — boats are sometimes still being cleaned at 5 p.m. (in our case only inside). Defective chart plotter; replacement device (tablet) didn't work either; DSC radio without GPS data. Outboard motor was defective, replaced within 2 days. The base manager was always reachable and behaved well and competently. Otherwise the technical condition of the boat was good.
