Great sailing holiday between Pula, Lošinj and Rab

We set off from Pula to explore the islands of Lošinj, Cres and Rab by sail. On the return a stop at the splendid beach of Susak. The charter was friendly and the boat clean and in order.

All good, actually very good

Booking with Marenauta was easy and quick, they were always available and quick in "extra" communications. The owner kind, fair, helpful. We had a problem with the outboard and they refunded the money. Fantastic and fast boat rigged the way I like. The only sour note, so to speak, the boat could have been a bit cleaner. Crumbs here and there but we cleaned up in five minutes. Sheets, mattresses, pillows, perfect.

Outboard engine price not shown at the time of booking. The port petrol station is indicated for refuelling on return without specifying that at the scheduled return time the fuel pump is closed. In this way they apply 4 l/h consumption based on the gauge; double the actual amount.

Hello dear Marenauta team, I actually wanted to test exactly this boat because I'm thinking of buying this boat type. Generally the boat was clean and in good shape. Unfortunately it had catastrophic sailing characteristics. I had hired a professional skipper especially for this and we couldn't manage to sail the boat properly. The professional skipper made countless phone calls with colleagues, but nobody could help. He himself said the boat was unseaworthy/unmanageable under sail. Unfortunately my test was therefore a flop. The cause isn't clear to us; even a mechanic from the team in Pula said he had the same problem with the boat. That's a shame — the boat was quite well maintained, unfortunately not suitable for sailing. Best regards Andreas Rupp

Excellent older fast boat

It was a pleasure to sail this boat even in very demanding conditions. We chartered it right at the end of the season so we noticed wear on the boat and equipment in several places, but nothing that serious winter maintenance couldn't fix. I recommend it to everyone for whom the pleasure of sailing matters more than showing off on deck.

Basically everything went well; the boat was fine (which you could expect at 1.5 years old). Only the effort the charter base puts into handover versus return doesn't quite match. While check-in on the base's side was supposed to be wrapped up in 5 minutes, our request to check the sails or inspect the engine together was dismissed with the words "everything's great and if not just take a photo", whereas the return was carried out very meticulously. Also the direct announcement that any violation (late return per started hour, holding tank not fully emptied, dinghy motor and canister not refilled, etc.) costs EUR 100 each already caused some bad feeling at the start. The request for EUR 150 for cockpit cushions, which we then gratefully declined, didn't help either. The obligatory EUR 250 service pack includes bed linen but not towels. These are all small things, but since we've experienced it differently at other charter bases in recent years, it did stand out negatively. Overall though it was a great week and setting off from this somewhat lesser-known marina in Pula did not turn out to be a negative either.

Unfortunately we were disappointed on many counts. We rented a new boat because we hoped everything would be in order, but on check-in day at 8 p.m. we were told that all the gauges (except the fuel one) were broken. We set off anyway as we had planned and booked a berth for the next day, but without gauges it was really awkward to manage both the water supply and especially the black water discharge, as with nothing visible you couldn't tell whether the tank was empty or still full. Despite emptying the tank every day there was always a sewage smell on board and spending two weeks with this odour was not pleasant at all. Furthermore on check-in day we saw the cockpit and bow cushions on the dock and arranged them on the boat; when we returned from dinner at 10 p.m. the cushions had disappeared without any communication. We enquired the next morning and were told that to have them we had to pay 300 euros. On a booking of almost 6000 euros it is absurd to be asked for all this money for cushions that should have been included in the price; furthermore before removing them it would have been more correct to explain the terms to us in person rather than making them disappear in the middle of the night by boarding the boat already in our possession in a deceitful and stealthy manner without saying a word. The tender was broken and took on a lot of water. Marenauta and Crosallingaccademy should have been more professional and we reserve the right to claim compensation for all the inconvenience they caused us, as on board there were both elderly people and children, and breathing foul-smelling air for 14 days was not healthy at all. Instead of being so precise in financial demands for trivialities you should have acted in time on the devastating and health-related problems for your clients. I hope this message can make you reflect that demanding money alone is not the right way to run a company and that on our part we suffered serious physical and moral damage. I am so sorry that you have this problem on the boat.

Damages and mistakes on boats have to happen and we do not run away from it.

Unfortunately, we did not know that you had an unpleasant smell on the boat and we did not know that something was bothering you on the boat because we did not receive any feedback from you during your booking. If we know about this some of us will come to fix the problem.

In our charter, cockpit cushions are optional extras and they are not included in the price, which can be seen in the price list for all optional extras. You were informed about the charge for cockpit cushions on the boat during check-in and you you didn't want to take it as an optional extra.
The previous guests had taken cockpit cushions and our technicians took them off as they do every time at the end of the booking, and for that reason, they were in front of the boat. You put the cockpit cushions on the boat by yourself without asking some of our team, and they were taken off that evening because you did not pay for the part that was explained to you before on the check-in.

The two weeks went well. The boat was excellently maintained, with very comfortable interiors, especially the forward cabin. Sails almost new. I had not understood that paid berthing in Pula marina was not included, and so we had some extras we had not expected.
