Nice experience

During the booking phase, phone assistance and email correspondence were punctual and accurate, but certainly improvable. There were no additional suggestions or guidance that could have made the experience easier and more complete. We arrived at 2pm, even though we had a check-in appointment at 4pm, but the boat was only handed over to us after 6pm, with a rather long wait. It would certainly have been appreciated to be able to use early check-in, as well as an organized provisioning service delivered directly to the boat, perhaps through local merchants. These are small services that would have significantly improved the organization and overall experience.

Flawless holiday!!!

We spent a wonderful week sailing in the Aeolian Islands, leaving from Portorosa, aboard a Beneteau Oceanis 41.1. A truly positive experience in every respect: from the welcome to the professionalism, everything was flawless. The boat proved comfortable, well maintained and perfectly organized to make the most of a week of sailing and relaxation. We also greatly appreciated the advice and availability we received, both during check-in and throughout the holiday. Amalfi Coast 2026

We spent an unforgettable week sailing among some of the most beautiful places on the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples. Our itinerary took us to Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Minori, Cetara and along splendid bays reachable only by sea. Each stop offered spectacular scenery, crystal-clear water and the chance to alternate relaxation, swimming, snorkelling and visits to characteristic villages. Special thanks to the charter company, which handed over a catamaran in excellent condition, perfectly clean and well equipped. Staff proved professional, helpful and punctual at both check-in and check-out, providing all the information needed to set off in complete peace of mind. Excellent holiday with NSS boat

We rented a Bavaria 46 with Nss for a holiday on Elba from Marina di Cala de' Medici. The boat was in excellent condition, very well cared for and clean. The company is really very professional, very competent staff and fast, very efficient procedures. I was struck by how attentive they were at handover to check that the boat was perfect for the next person. Really excellent charter company, nothing improvised, admirable staff professionalism. Review of NSS Charter - Cala dei Sardi

In general the process with NSS was professional and everything end up working well. It´s true that it´s quite person dependant with people in NSS more customer oriented than others, in our case we found a good person that was supportive and solved our issues. During the weeks the engine of the dingy broke up and we were forced to come back to base for replacement that happened, however obviously consumed 1 day of our holidays.

Professional charter

The company is run professionally and on a large scale. With a very large fleet, check-in and check-out phases are quite chaotic but handled by staff with professionalism and courtesy. Even management of minor breakdowns at sea is prompt. Specifically our fridge wasn't cooling — we reported it and after a couple of hours the support RIB reached us and fixed the problem. The boat was in order and well kept with all equipment including provisions and cabins in excellent condition. Only downside, which doesn't depend on them but on Nexi: the deposit takes a while to be released, at least with our credit card circuit. We plan to charter from them again.

Top sailing area, yacht with technical issues

The yacht had a defective seacock. The valve on the aft toilet could not be closed. The problem could not be fixed because the boat would have to be taken out of the water for that. The consequences were: 1. The toilet gradually filled to the brim. 2. Unpleasant smell of excrement on board. Otherwise the boat was in good condition. We still had a very nice holiday. The sailing area and the marina were great.

Dream beaches and great service

The reservation through Marenauta went smoothly; questions were answered immediately. Yacht takeover was also well organised and without significant delays. For a problem with the waste water tank on day 3, two employees from the charter company were even sent by car to our nearby harbour. Because of the service work we were given an extra half day free at the end.

Unfortunately poor handling of a justified complaint

The landlord NSS was certainly trying and the staff very friendly. The overall condition of the boat was decent, the equipment reasonably complete. We had booked rather cheaply and didn't expect top condition, so we were initially very satisfied. Unfortunately after takeover it turned out the fridge was broken. NSS spent the whole Sunday morning trying to repair it, ultimately unsuccessfully, which cost us half a day. As a 'replacement' we were given a loud, very power-hungry cool box in the galley that had no temperature control and offered too little space. The promise to come as quickly as possible with the spare part and repair the fridge underway was forgotten. Ultimately we were refunded 200 EUR for the lost half day and loss of comfort, which we consider inadequate. The charter rate for half a day alone was already in that range.

The paperwork at takeover and return is enormously intimidating. Everything worked out well. Unfortunately the rig and sail equipment of the Oceanis 37.1 is equipped with extremely few trimming options. Comfort on board is excellent. Unfortunately my blocked security deposit has still not been released as of today (10 days after returning the ship).

Fabulous holiday with 2 sailing boats in wonderful places. Check-in wasn't the best. The boat wasn't clean, we had to change the Garmin chartplotter on board and as soon as we hoisted the sail we saw the mainsail had a tear. That said, they immediately resolved all the problems and the sail was repaired in one day.

A bit of bad luck, but lots of fun

The holiday was interesting; unfortunately we had an engine breakdown (cooling circuit impeller failure) which forced us to return to port 2 hours after the first departure. NSS charter staff were very quick to carry out repairs, but we had to wait until the next day. The next day a swell arrived that lasted 2 days, effectively reducing the sailing to just 3 days. In short a bit of bad luck, but we enjoyed the three remaining days.

A few shortcomings to note for the charter: check-in carried out at 9:30 pm in the dark and in just a few minutes. When collecting the boat the cleaning was not impeccable. Unfortunately inverters were missing (we asked for a portable one but none was available) and a coffee machine. Otherwise everything ok.

Adequate boat with a lot of wear

Organisationally everything worked superbly. The boat was basically fine too. I must note, however, that many wear parts should have been replaced/repaired in advance (cracks in the windows in places, broken galley locker, etc.). I would also like to report wet bed linens as a defect. That probably happened during boat cleaning. The bed linens were changed, but it was still very troublesome.

Nice holiday with borderline yacht

The positive: the NSS charter base in Portisco is truly one of the most beautiful small marinas I know. Well-kept lawn, nice seating and friendly staff. A really lovely place to set off from and return to. The yacht, an Oceanis 40.1, was really borderline though. It had obviously had ground contact with a previous charterer; there were clear cracks in the bilge and the beginning of delamination. A spoke on the carbon steering wheel on the starboard side was also broken. Unfortunately they did not actively tell us this at handover; thanks to a thorough check before departure we found the defects ourselves and photographed them as a precaution. Return and settlement were then trouble-free, meaning the defects were obviously already known. During the charter week it left a somewhat uneasy feeling and a 12-hour bilge-check rhythm.

Charter review (summer 2024) – Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 from Marina d'...

The boat was a Beneteau Oceanis 41.1, chartered from Marina d'Arechi. Starting with the marina: very beautiful, modern and well organized. However, there is an extremely negative point that compromised the experience: access with your own car is not permitted, not even temporarily, for loading and unloading. This means having to wait for a shuttle (every 5/10 minutes) and queue with other boaters to try to load everything in as few trips as possible, under the scorching August sun. An exhausting experience I have no intention of repeating. And it's a shame, because the marina itself deserves a lot. The charter company (NSS Charter) is well organized and nothing to complain about on their part: punctuality, courtesy and professionalism. However, I advise anyone interested in chartering from there to seriously consider the marina access problem. Moving on to the boat: overall well maintained, but with two important issues. Unbearable smell coming from the master cabin bathroom, present already at delivery and never resolved during the entire week. At takeover, we found the halyards completely tangled around the mast, jib and mainsail. A situation I shouldn't have had to fix myself, but after 30 minutes of work (and quite a bit of patience), we managed to put everything back in order. Overall judgment still positive, thanks to the quality of the boat and the company's service. I'm not giving the top score only because of the problems mentioned.

Shortcomings in boat preparation

We have already submitted a complaint to NSS Charter, as there were significant shortcomings both during the check-in procedure and with the boat itself: it was handed over more than two hours late, forcing us to spend the first night in port; pillows, towels, lighters and scissors were missing; the electric windlass stopped working on the third day; the bow thruster was subject to overheating and consequent malfunction.

Catamaran different from what was advertised

We rented the catamaran because, in addition to being from 2024, the Marenauta listing showed it had a generator and air conditioning. The catamaran, contrary to what was presented, did NOT have a generator and therefore had a battery-powered air conditioning system and 3 small solar panels. Furthermore, the air conditioning system worked (insufficiently) only when the catamaran was berthed in the marina and connected to shore power. Under way and at anchor it still did not work. So to have at least a little relief from the 40-degree heat during the night, we were forced to use marinas with the related expense in order to have some air conditioning.

Super charter, Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 (3 cab) perfect, only a few problems at Marina d'Arechi due to impossibility of access with your own vehicle for luggage drop-off and loading, and shuttles not available at disembarkation time on Saturday morning at 8:00. Beautiful coast but little wind in the last week of June. Very heavy boat traffic, dinghies, motorboats not respecting privacy and safety. Some difficulty booking berths in some ports then resolved with some connections. Overall excellent holiday thanks also to Marenauta.

We took the boat for 5 days — spacious and bright; unfortunately it lacked ventilation in the aft cabins and was without a lighter and bottle opener!!!!! I recommend checking… Also recommend having the sails checked at check-in; we had a problem not caused by us that they still charged us for because it wasn't possible to hoist them before departure due to the wind… Assistance was nevertheless excellent; essential to insure the deposit to avoid surprises…

Experience without sails

Good morning, on 29.07.2023 we arrived at the Portorosa Tourist Port to pick up a Beneteau Oceanis 45. Marenauta should indicate in advance and not at the last moment the owner they rely on. In fact we only learned two days before that it was the same company with whom we had a negative experience in Sardinia. Knowing that beforehand we would never have chosen them. The welcome was terrible with one of their staff, rude and arrogant, when we requested possible free use/discount on the tender engine. In addition, we could not use the sails during the week because the furling mainsail was damaged and the part had been ordered a week before without anyone warning us of the problem. For those who choose a sailboat, going only under engine is not pleasant. We expected compensation for the inconvenience that was never offered. Next time I will ask for information about the owner before chartering a boat. Otherwise the boat was comfortable.

Beautiful Trip

We had an amazing week last summer on the Lagoon 50. Our Captain was very professional and he sailed us to the best spots in the neighbourhood. Our hostess was very sweat and a good cook. She spoiled us the entire week with great meals! We enjoyed every second on this beautiful & comfortable boat. Both the kids, as the adults enjoyed the water toys and the beautiful beaches we visited. We'll defenitely come back in the future!!!

We set off from Marina Cala Dei Medici for Capraia and then went to Plage du Loto (Corsica), Marciana Marina Elba, Giglio Island, Giannutri Island, Porto Azzurro (Elba Island), Cavo (Elba Island) before returning to the base. We had small problems (I have never had a boat without minor issues, but that is part of sailing) which thanks to the precise instructions from the charter and our experience we resolved in a short time.

Terrible charter, Tuscan coast always beautiful

The Tuscan coast is always a safe bet; a shame the weather didn't let us reach the islands. Terrible charter, huge disappointment. At check-in they told us the autopilot didn't work and offered no solution, so with a 9-year-old and a 13-month-old we refused to sign the contract. No replacement boat or other proposal. We finally started our holiday after 3 days waiting for the spare part. No refund or discount.

The boat was handed over by our staff in perfect condition for sailing; the autopilot issue in no way affected its handling nor in any way made navigation impossible.

That said, given that the autopilot is a device to be considered auxiliary to navigation, and absolutely not necessary, we wish to specify that it was working and that, simply, due to a minor issue it would disconnect from time to time.

Therefore, considering that:
- navigation must in no way depend solely on the autopilot and the skipper is required, with great care, to keep command of the vessel at all times during navigation;
- that reconnecting the autopilot cannot be considered a serious problem on a vessel whose cockpit is 2 square metres;
we believe that the decision not to leave the Marina on the scheduled handover day does not depend in any way on the undersigned, but solely on a decision attributable to you.

Regarding the gas leak and the water tank sensor issue, these, as you yourself indicated, were resolved within an hour and in no way represent a loss of time worth taking into consideration.

In addition to the above, given the continuing bad weather conditions, in addition to the first three days when the boat remained moored due to your decision as stated above, you decided to remain moored at the Marina for the following two days as well, for a total of 5 days, 4 of which were not included in the contract cost.

Despite the situation described above not being due to our will or our fault, the undersigned nevertheless decided not to charge additional costs for the berthing.
We therefore consider the client's negative review entirely unjustified.

Demanding Sardinia

Sardinia is a somewhat more demanding sailing area. The wind can pick up quickly and the waves are also somewhat higher than, for example, in the Adriatic. As the boat is a Bavaria 31 it is rather small. Headroom only 1.80 meters. The berth in the bow is also a little short. Unfortunately cleanliness was not great. There was water on the stove and everything was a bit sticky. There was also no spare petrol for the outboard on board — only an empty can. At 80 euros a week for the outboard, very disappointing. Only one burner on the stove worked, out of three. I then repaired another one myself. The equipment was also missing the anchor ball and the cone. The technical briefing was also very brief. Check-in only after 6 p.m. and on Saturday you had to be off the boat by 8 a.m. None of it major, but many small things.

The Costa Smeralda has beautiful bays with various overnight options at anchor. Marina Sails works professionally, but still hasn't released my deposit after 2 weeks. The boat was in good condition, the facilities were OK, but 2 toilets for 56 boats is a bit few. Marenauta is customer-oriented and made my later upgrade to a larger boat hassle-free.

Excellent skipper and boat. Worst check in and checkout process I have ever experienced. They were arrogant, unprofessional and unapologetically overpriced. Wouldn’t make any sailing recommendations or provide any navigation advice. Which wasn’t required for us due to our skipper being very experienced- but were completely useless for other non-skippered boats. Would never recommend the charter company to anyone.

During the embarkation day, at our Marina there are 3 briefing about the navigation area. Our base manager explains and informs all the skippers about the recommended sailing area and the dangerous one.

What the client said about our base staff is very strange, as you could see in all our reviews, all our clients are very pleased regarding our staff and their professionalism.

Moreover, the feedback left from the client at the base was totally different from the one written on your website. She answered to the questionnaire with 5/5 an 4/5 marks.

So it seems very strange its review here.

But anyway we are at disposal for any information needed.

Majorca and Menorca July 2019 - Bavaria 51

Beautiful sailing for about 270 NM along the entire north coast of Majorca from Porto Colom to Cape Formentor to Cala Figuera, then on to Menorca, from Ciutadella to Mahón, with nights at anchor watching the full moon. Last night spent alongside in Mahón, at the foot of the city, then final passage back to Porto Colom. Glorious sun and stunning bays. Plenty of sailing. Staff in Porto Colom very welcoming and helpful. Boat well kept. A holiday to remember.

Marina Cala dei Medici is a modern marina with every comfort: shops, gym, bar, Michelin-starred restaurant, so even though we couldn't leave on the first day, we were still able to start the holiday in the best way with a bit of relaxation. As soon as we arrived, Leonardo immediately offered us the 2019 Oceanis 38.1 instead of the 2017 one — so a new, clean and fresh-smelling boat; Anna, who welcomed us at check-in, was extremely professional but also wonderfully kind and friendly, and explained all the possibilities both in the marina and the surrounding area (very useful for interesting culinary experiences!). Check-in ended on the boat, where Leonardo helped us find all the navigation and safety equipment. Monday the 29th the sea was still very rough, so we stayed in the marina sunbathing in the cockpit or on the bow, but on Tuesday the 30th at 6 in the morning we finally set off for Capraia. The sea was still quite rough but the Oceanis is an excellent boat — the bow cuts through the waves and with a fantastic close-hauled speed we arrived in splendid Capraia after just over six hours. We moored several nights in port and one night at anchor, and our boat was comfortable and, together with the nature around us, gave us moments of great joy and relaxation. Friday 2 August we set off again to return to the marina and after about 6 hours entered port after facing a still very lively sea and a scirocco wind that reached 22 knots, forcing us to reduce sail area on both mainsail and jib. A fantastic sail! In the marina we filled up with diesel — just over €20 since we had used the engine very little — and they immediately showed us our berth. After an hour the checkout staff had already been and gone, leaving us the boat so we could rest and enjoy one last evening out at a restaurant recommended by the wonderful Anna. Saturday morning, wake up at seven, bags in the car and off home after a beautiful seaside holiday. Thanks to all the Marenauta staff for the organization and to all the owner's staff!!
