Sardinia is beautiful, but so many problems on board  
At Marina di Olbia things did not go very well. The little information given during preparation cost us the inability to use the shuttle service (free) and we had to request the paid one. On arrival, he gave us a hard time because he wanted to be notified well in advance; on the return, he simply left us stranded. We were forced to use a taxi which, with two trips, took us to the ferry pier. But moving on to the charter company: on arrival we found the staff already stressed (we are at the start of the season), the check-in procedure started with considerable delay, I think we were the last and, since the boat had problems such as a non-functioning refrigerator, bilge flooded with fresh water up to the base of the batteries, approximate cleaning by the manager's own admission, to name only the most obvious problems. So, to fix the faults we waited until 9 p.m. Check-in almost non-existent, so much so that when I asked where the water tank taps were, I was told: "What precision!" After which, without opening the sails: "You can leave". We left the next morning and, during the sailing, we realized that the fridge kept tripping because it was powered on emergency via the second fridge line, overloading the dedicated fuse (fortunately resettable). Without going on too long, I will simply list the other problems: missing vang base stop nut, starboard chainplate that came loose, headsail that in strong wind came out of the luff groove, and lastly the wind indicator at the masthead swinging so you could not tell the wind angle. Check-out also approximate, but I left the long list of problems. For the rest, Sardinia is always beautiful, although complicated by the countless restrictions and limitations on enjoying the area.

We are sincerely sorry to read negative feedback following a holiday with us, as our goal is always to provide a service that meets expectations at every stage of the stay.

Regarding the issues you raised, we would first like to offer our most sincere apologies, particularly for the delay in the check-in procedure. Our base team works every day with professionalism and dedication, but during peak periods the organisation can come under pressure, leading to unwanted delays or slowdowns. In detail, however, we can tell you that the presence of fresh water in the bilge can sometimes occur during weekly cleaning operations. It is a resolvable issue and does not in any way compromise the safety of the vessel.
Hoisting the sails is generally recommended outside the harbour, in a safe area not far from the base, precisely to avoid risks related to possible gusts of wind or confined spaces. Should any problems arise, it is possible to return promptly to the base to receive assistance from our staff.
Finally, we take note of all the technical observations you reported and thank you sincerely: constructive feedback from our clients represents an important opportunity for improvement for us.

With regard to the shuttle service, we would like to clarify that this service is not managed directly by our company, but falls under the responsibility of Marina di Olbia – Moys. We understand the inconvenience and are sorry that you were unable to use it properly, but unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for any disruptions outside our organisation.
Renewing our apologies for the inconveniences encountered, we remain at your disposal for any further clarification and hope to be able to welcome you on board again in the future with a service that meets your expectations.

A week in the Aeolian Islands on the Lagoon 42  
Seven days in the Aeolian Islands on the Lagoon 42, and it went very well even with the weather, good wind almost every day, no days lost. The boat is appreciated for its space and stability at anchor, but it is not designed to sleep ten. The saloon sofas are comfortable to sit on but uncomfortable as beds. I recommend it without doubt, just avoid loading too many people on board.

Aeolian Islands July 2025  
It was a beautiful holiday, I don't deny it, but unfortunately there was a fault with the generator and one with the watermaker right from the first night. the impossibility of producing fresh water forced us to severely limit consumption on board and to modify the cruise program to return repeatedly to Lipari in order to refuel with water, although this stop was not planned twice in the original itinerary. To the discomfort resulting from the lack of air conditioning was added the much more significant one, linked to the loss of time actually available for sailing and for the holiday itself. Due to the problem with the generator we in fact remained stopped for the first time in Lipari for about half a day, from the morning until past lunchtime, and subsequently we were forced to return to port again where we lost another day. I would like to underline that the crew demonstrated great professionalism, availability and collaborative spirit and that we do not in any way attribute the responsibility for the situation to them. On the contrary, we believe they did everything in their power to limit the impact of the problem. However, the fact remains that the service actually enjoyed is significantly different from what was proposed and purchased.
